Ten (10) Women in Engineering Bursaries of $6,000 per bursary ($3,000 per year for two years) are available each year to female students who commence a full-time Bachelor of Engineering degree straight from high school, or a gap year, at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Tragically, Monique died in a road accident in May 2008 and was awarded a Bachelor of Technology (Civil) posthumously in July of that year. Monique’s classmates are determined that her memory be honoured in perpetuity and have launched the Monique Cramer Memorial Award which will be awarded in conjunction with the Women in Engineering Bursary that Monique herself received. This recipient will emulate Monique’s community spirit and passion for engineering. All recipients of the Women in Engineering Bursary will be eligible for the Monique Cramer Award.
