The Queensland Power Industry wishes to support high quality engineering students with an interest in power engineering to help drive recent industry growth. They are offering Power Engineering Bursaries to first year engineering students in power engineering affiliated courses to provide not only financial support but also valuable paid vacation employment.

Bursary value

The value of each bursary is $8,000 over a four-year period. Bursary is paid yearly at the rate of $1,000 in the student’s first year, $2,000 in their second and third years and $3,000 in their fourth year of study (subject to bursary conditions).

Industry Support

In 2008 there are at least fourteen (14) bursaries available with involvement from ABB Australia, AREVA T&D, Australian Power Institute, Connell Wagner, CS Energy, ENERGEX, Ergon Energy, Maunsell Australia, PB Power, Powerlink Queensland, Queensland Alumina Limited, Stanwell Corporation, Tarong Energy and The United Group Infrastructure.

Availability of the Bursaries

Bursaries are on offer to students oriented to careers relevant to the energy sector - with a preference to students taking strong power engineering courses.
