[Print-friendly version]

The Dean's Bursary for High Achievement encourages and rewards outstanding first year students studying within the Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Six (6) Dean’s Bursaries for High Achievement of $3,000 each are available to students who commence a full-time bachelor degree straight from high school, or a gap year, in one of the Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering courses at QUT.

You are eligible to apply for the Dean’s Bursary for High Achievement if you:

  • complete Year 12 (or a gap year) in the year proceeding enrollment at QUT; and
  • apply for a full-time position in a bachelor degree in one of QUT’s Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering courses; and
  • are expecting to achieve an OP of 1 - 5 or equivalent; and
  • are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or Australian permanent humanitarian visa holder.

Applications open in approximately August of the year preceding enrollment at QUT and close in November. The selection panel will allocate the bursary to the students who have maintained an active participation in extra-curricular activities and undertaken leadership, based on the information in the application. There will be no interviews. Students will be notified in January of the outcome of the bursary application process.

Please note that you are encouraged to also apply for the Dean’s Scholars Program, a VC Scholarship and/or a Women in Engineering Bursary. However, students can only be granted one of these scholarships/ bursaries. An offer of a bursary does not constitute an offer in the course; i.e. standard QUT and QTAC admission rules still apply. Please note, while deferment is an option for this course, this bursary will not be available to students who defer.
