Can you tell me when the next program will be held and what units are being offered? We hold two 8-10 week programs each year, June/July and mid October to early December (Summer). During these programs there will be approximately 12-16 units available. These units are chosen in a number of ways but the main indicator is gained following the return of Industry Surveys which are sent out during March and August each year. Once confirmed a detailed registration form is then sent to people on our database. If you would like to go on this database please contact the Course Administration Officer. There are generally also adhoc units presented at other times throughout the year and we also present at interstate, intrastate and overseas venues. For information on Short Course Unit closing dates please visit the CPE Course's webpage http://www.cpe.qut.edu.au/courses/ and search for PESTC Short Courses. What is the deadline for registration? The deadline for a shortcourse is 2 weeks prior to the start of the particular unit, however there is likely to be heavy demand for some units and places will be filled on a "first come" basis. For Distance Education units, there is no deadline for enrolment. Where is my shortcourse being held? All units (with the exception of EEP219) will be conducted at the Gardens Point campus of QUT which is located in the central city area of Brisbane. EEP219 will be conducted at Alstom Aust. Ltd, Evans Road, Rocklea. Specific rooms/building, times, lecturers etc will be advised on a timetable that will be forwarded on receipt of registration.
Is there a fee for cancellation? Yes. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions at the time of registration How is assessment carried out for this program? There are no exams and all assessment is assignment based. Assignments are submitted directly to the Course Administration Officer in hard copy format with an Assignment Cover Sheet. When is my assignment due? Assignments for shortcourse units are due 2 months from the last day you attended the shortcourse. Distance education units are due 3 months from the day you received the notes.
