Undergraduate Program - Property Economics |
|||
What is Property Economics?Property Economics focuses on the economic and financial aspects of the built environment, including the development, management, administration and use of land and property such as office buildings, shopping centres, factories and hotels. It studies the economic, legal, financial, social and environmental impacts of the utilisation of land and the improvements erected upon it. This involves understanding why land is used and developed for a particular purpose and how change of use can affect land value. Property Economists assist with providing advice to owners and other interested parties on the use, value, management and marketing of their interests in order to optimise their benefit from ownership or occupation. Property Economists are primarily concerned with the worth of assets invested in real estate. They assess and advise on the economic and commercial aspects of land and buildings.
