What is Landscape Architecture?

Landscape Architecture is a design discipline which combines art and science to create meaningful and enjoyable outdoor places while responding to the economic, social and environmental interests of communities.

It is concerned with the environment as a whole: its design, development, planning and management.

The profession of Landscape Architecture is committed to providing creative designs and sustainable land management solutions specific to individual sites. It is concerned with the design of the external environment at all scales and deals with the appearance, atmosphere and suitability of landscapes that assure the health and welfare of both the environment and its inhabitants.
