Profile

Qualifications, Career history and Professional and Group Associations

Professor Doug Hargreaves is the Head of the School of Engineering Systems at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia. He is a mechanical engineer having published over 100 refereed papers on Tribology (friction, wear and lubrication) and in excess of 30 papers on engineering education. He is a former President of Engineers Australia (Qld) and secretary of the Australian Association of Engineering Education (AaeE). He is currently the Queensland Chapter Chair of CELM. He has served on many EA committees over a long period of time including the Board of the College of Mechanical Engineers and National Congress. Since becoming Head of School he has developed and implemented a model of leadership that is referred to as Values Driven Leadership.
